Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy BHRT
Looking for the path to wellness and hormonal balance? Bio-identical hormones are chemicals that carry messages to tissues and organs to maintain balance within the body. As we age, some of our hormones become depleted, which results in symptoms that affect our physical and mental wellbeing, including fatigue, weight gain, memory loss and a plethora of other symptoms. We take a comprehensive approach to address your wellness by assessing and assisting with the balance of the hormones most powerful in maintaining wellbeing: estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid and adrenal. We want you to reach your maximum potential while looking and feeling your absolute best.
Hormones for Women
As women age, their hormones decline rapidly. This process can begin as early as the 30s. Perimenopause (the time leading up to menopause) and menopause can last for many years, resulting in havoc with the body’s chemistry. Symptoms include weight gain, anxiety, depression, hot flashes, night sweats, memory loss, fatigue, insomnia, vaginal dryness, pain with intercourse, and low libido. Decreased hormones can also trigger inflammation, increase blood sugars, and elevate cholesterol. With our customized hormone plan, we will work to improve your symptoms and greatly improve your quality of life. We will assess your symptoms, monitor your labs, and construct a hormone plan that is easy to follow.
Hormones for Men
Andropause, the male menopause, is known as low testosterone. According to a study published in the International Journal of Clinical Practice, nearly 40 percent of men over the age of 45 suffer from low testosterone. Testosterone levels begin to decline in a man’s late 20s and reach low levels around middle age. Symptoms include hot flashes, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, depression, muscle loss, low libido, and joint pain. Clinical evidence reveals low testosterone plays a role in common co-morbidities such as diabetes and heart disease. A recent Veteran Affairs Database study showed that men who restored their testosterone levels were at a reduced risk of heart attack or stroke. We offer a variety of delivery methods including creams, gels, injections, and pellet therapy. With our customized plan, you can decide which form of delivery works best for you and your lifestyle.
Forms of Therapy
Hormone therapy has reached new heights of safety and effectiveness over the years as advances in science have uncovered more accurate forms of testing hormone levels and administering hormone treatment. We only offer products from the top compounding pharmacies to our clients. The pharmacies we use are in compliance with the DEA and can provide Certificates of Analysis for all hormones offered for potency.
We offer our clients a variety of hormone replacement therapy options such as creams, gels, capsules, injections, troches, drops, and pellet therapy. Pellet therapy is a great alternative to the traditional delivery methods of hormones, for those who don’t want weekly injections or those who travel often. The pellets are bio-identical compounds of either estrogen or testosterone that are placed underneath the skin to deliver a steady flow of hormones that last 3-4 months. The implants are the size of a grain of rice. A tiny incision is made in either the buttock or flank under local anesthetic. The incision is closed with steri-strips, no sutures needed. The procedure takes less than 10 minutes and is virtually painless. For those prone to scarring, please discuss this with your provider.
Our customized hormone plan doesn’t stop with just estrogen and testosterone. We also take an in-depth look at your adrenal glands and thyroid. Your adrenal glands respond to stress and produce hormones to regulate blood pressure and heart rate. Many people experience weight gain, decreased libido, fatigue, and many other symptoms when their adrenals become depleted due to stress. Addressing your adrenals is crucial to achieving hormone balance. Thyroid support can improve cognition, boost metabolism, increase energy, regulate elimination, and stop hair loss. Thyroid disease is often missed during routine assessments. Our thorough assessment will examine how well your thyroid is functioning and give it the support it needs.
